North Dakota Women's
Foundation Launched!
Presentation of
Unrestricted Grants |

Helen & Everett Barta Scholarship Fund |
| |
|
Established by the family of Helen and Everett Barta to assist
students from the Steele-Dawson High School to continue their
education. Preference will be given to students attending
fundamentalist seminary or college. |
| |
|
Bismarck Art and Galleries Association Endowment
Fund |
| |
|
The
Fund was established to build a solid base for the future of the
BAGA. BAGA is best know for its gallery located on 5th St. and Front
Avenue in Bismarck and its Capitol A'Fair held on the state capitol
grounds in August of each year. |

Gordon Knaak Fund |
| |
|
Established by a group of Mr. Knaak's former Bismarck High band
students. Mr. Knaak is a much beloved former Bismarck High band
leader. The Fund will make grants to enhance the Bismarck High Band
by buying instruments and funding other band activities beyond the
scope of the school budget. |

Jim & Barbara Blaine Scholarship Fund |
| |
|
 The
Fund was established by Jim and Barbara Blaine; longtime staff
members at Century High School in Bismarck. The Fund will assist
descendants of present and former Century High School staff to
continue their education. |

Bremer Partners in Progress Fund |
| |
|
Established with a grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation to assist
the work of Partners in Progress. Partners in Progress works with
farmers in North Dakota to assist with credit restructuring and farm
management to help keep families on the farm. |

Chambers Women's Initiative Non-Endowment
Fund |
| |
|
The
Fund was established with a grant from the Chambers Family Fund of
Denver. Grants will go to programs in North Dakota serving women and
girls working towards economic self-sufficiency and lifelong
well-being. |

Jean E. Crabtree Memorial Scholarship Fund |
| |
|
Established with gifts from family and friends of Jean E. Crabtree
of Ellendale. Ms. Crabtree was an educator, librarian, world
traveler, adventurer, and connoisseur of theater and art. The Fund
will assist students from Ellendale to continue their education. |

Dakota Social Justice Fund |
| |
|
Established by Tim and Lorene Mathern and their family to support
the work of the Church of the Nativity in Fargo and Catholic Social
Justice values. The Fund will support systemic change efforts so
each person can participate fully in society. Other values supported
by this Fund are; increasing involvement with non-profits,
increasing philanthropy, and building stronger family ties. |

Mike and Dorothy Dolan Charitable Gift Annuity |
| |
|
This
life income gift was given by Mike and Dorothy Dolan of Minot. The
Dolans will receive income during their lifetimes. When the gift
matures, the proceeds will be placed in Mike and Dorothy Dolan Minot
Commission on Aging Fund. An annual grant will be sent to the Minot
Commission on Aging for its programs which serve senior citizens in
the Minot Area. |

Judge Harold M. Hager Memorial Fund |
| |
|
Established
by North Dakota Community Foundation Board Chair Joanne Ottmar and
her husband Tim in loving memory of Judge Hager. The Fund is an
unrestricted fund of the Foundation and will make grants to
non-profit entities across the state of North Dakota. |

Hillsboro Community Future Fund |
| |
|
The
Fund was established with gifts from Hillsboro residents, the Otto
Bremer Foundation and the North Dakota Community Foundation. A
committee of Hillsboro Community leaders will recommend grants to
local charitable projects annually. |

Historic Jewish Cemetery at Canfield Township |
| |
|
Established by a gift from Dr. Zenith Kremen to support maintenance
at the Historic Jewish Cemetery located in rural Burleigh County. |

laPlante Family Scholarship Fund |
| |
|
Established by Margaret laPlante to honor her family. The Fund will
assist students from Grafton High School to continue their
education. |

Margery McCanna-Jennison Non-Endowment Fund |
| |
|
Established by Margery McCanna-Jennison with a gift of appreciated
stock. The Fund will make grants to non-profit agencies at Margery's
recommendation. |

McKenzie County Youth & Teen Center Fund |
| |
|
The
Fund was established to raise start-up capital for the McKenzie
County Youth and Teen Center located in Watford City. The North
Dakota Community Foundation acted as fiscal sponsor for the Center
until they received their own IRS 501(c)(3) Determination Letter. |

Dr. Donald P. Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund |
| |
|
Established
in loving memory of Dr. Donald P. Miller by his brothers, nieces and
nephews. Dr. Miller was a longtime mathematics professor at St.
Cloud State University in Minnesota. He was raised in Strasburg, ND
and the Fund will make annual awards to an outstanding Strasburg
High School graduate for higher education expenses. |

North Sargent Class of '63 Scholarship Fund |
| |
|
Established by members of the North Sargent Class of 1963. The Fund
will be used to assist students from North Sargent High School to
continue their education. |

Northern Cass Education Foundation |
| |
|
Established to enhance the educational experience at the Northern
Cass School by making grants for activities and equipment not funded
by school district monies. |
| |

Northwest Area Foundation Capacity Building
Fund |
| |
|
The
Fund was established by a gift from the Northwest Area Foundation to
help the North Dakota Community Foundation work to reduce poverty in
North Dakota. Grants from the Fund will be made in concert with the
North Dakota Community Foundation's Unrestricted grant cycle. |

A
temporary donor-advised fund established to help reduce poverty in
North Dakota. The Northwest Area Foundation will recommend grants
from the Fund in line with the mission of its initiative to reduce
poverty in the Foundation's service area. |

Oakes Area Billboard Fund |
| |
|
A
temporary fund established to raise funds to erect billboards on the
entrances to Oakes to promote civic pride. |

Oakes School Playground Fund |

Established to raise funds to upgrade playground equipment for the
Oakes School. The new equipment improved safety and accessibility
for the children of Oakes. |

Oakes Swimming Pool Fund |
| |
|
The
Fund was established to raise monies to upgrade/repair the swimming
pool in Oakes. Local citizens were able to make contributions to
make their town a better place. |

Clinton R. Ottmar Memorial Fund |
| |

Established
by North Dakota Community Foundation Board Chair Joanne Ottmar and
her husband Tim in loving memory of Clinton R. Ottmar. The Fund is
an unrestricted fund of the Foundation and will make grants to
non-profit entities across the state of North Dakota. |

Elvine Sondreaal Septon Fund |
| |
|
Established
by Betty and Dean Winkjer of Williston in loving memory of Betty's
mother. Elvine Sondreaal Septon was born in 1905 near Hatton, ND.
She was a school teacher and later a homemaker who raised three
daughters. Family and Church were the center of her life. The Fund
will assist students to attend the Northwest Theological Seminary
located in St. Paul, MN. |

historic St. Patrick's Cemetery in Crystal, ND. |
