Messer-Kopp Memorial Scholarship Fund |
| |
Established by Ron and JoAnn Kopp of Littleton, Colorado in memory
of their parents. The Fund will assist students from Richardton,
North Dakota to continue their education. Priority will be given to
students who exhibit financial need, personal moral and leadership
qualities and a record of academic success. The award may be used
for institutions of higher learning in North Dakota including
vocational institutions. |

John
A. Messer was born on April 7, 1906 to Jacob and Celestine (Loran)
Messer of Richardton, ND. Catherine Greff was born on July 17, 1910.
John and Catherine (Katie) entered into marriage on June 11, 1929.
They farmed all their married life. They lived south of Richardton
and had 13 children.
John was active on the Plum Creek School Board and the St. Stephen’s
Church Board. With 13 active children Katie was busy being a Mom.
Tragedy struck the family on September 22, 1956 when John died in an
accident. Katie stayed on the farm until 1964 when she moved into
Richardton. The Messer Children attended school in Richardton. Katie
passed away on December 20, 1985. |

Raymond
Kopp was born in 1911, son of Pius and Lena (Zimmerman) Kopp. He
grew up on the family farm just south of Richardton and attended
Assumption Abbey Prep School.
In 1935 he married Evelyn Streu who graduated from Taylor High
School in 1934. They operated the family farm until 1941 when they
moved to Richardton, where Raymond worked as a bulk station
operator, city and county employee. They raised seven children who
attended school in Richardton. Ray and Evelyn were both active in
the community. Raymond was a member of the church choir for many
years. |

Raymond passed away October 30, 1983. Evelyn now lives in Roseburg,
Oregon with her daughter Karen. |

North Dakota Fund for Animal Welfare |
| |
Established by Rodney Gigstad and Carol
Hagen of Grand Forks to promote the welfare of animals in North
Dakota. Rodney and Carol operate Petcetera Animal Clinic in Grand
Forks and have an interest in the well-being of animals of all
kinds. |

Torrey and Lillian Peterson Endowment Fund |
| |

Established by NDCF Board Member Chad Michael Peterson of Fargo
in honor of his grandparents. Grants from the Fund’s will be
made along with the North Dakota Community Foundation
Unrestricted grant round with emphasis on projects in the
Stanley North Dakota area. |

Michael Peterson of Fargo in honor of his maternal grandparents.
Grants from the Fund shall be made in concert with the North
Dakota Community Foundation’s Unrestricted grant round with
emphasis on projects in the Edgeley, North Dakota area. |

Max Zelenak Scholarship Fund |
| |
Established by a gift from the estate of
Mr. Zelenak to assist students from Oakes High School to continue
their education. The Administration of the Oakes Public School shall
recommend students for the award. Application forms are available at
the Oakes High School Office. |

Ellendale/Oakes Venture Funds |
| |
Established
with a gift from Frank and Jo Andrea Larson of Valley City,
principal shareholders in First Southwest Banks. The Venture Funds
will assist with economic development projects in the Oakes and
Ellendale areas. A committee will be formed to administer the Funds
to promote economic activity in these rural communities. |

AAA Pregnancy Clinic Endowment Fund |
| |
Established in 2002 as an agency
endowment to support the work of the AAA Pregnancy Clinic (soon to
be FirstChoice Clinic) which is a pregnancy help medical clinic
providing life affirming alternatives and assistance. All services
are provided free of charge and by licensed medical professionals.
The Christian nonprofit agency serves clients primarily from the Red
River region, however it is not uncommon to see clients from all
over North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. |

Rolla Community Endowment Fund |
| |
Established by a group of community
leaders to build an endowment to enhance the quality of life for the
people of the Rolla North Dakota area. |
| |
CBP Donor-Advised Fund |
| |
Established by a former North Dakotan
who chooses to remain anonymous. The donor may recommend grants from
the Fund or allow the Board of the North Dakota Community Foundation
discretion over grants from the Fund. |

First Lady’s Alcohol Free Kids Fund |
| |
Established by North Dakota First Lady
Mikey Hoeven to support her initiative to combat underage drinking
by North Dakota’s Youth. The Fund will be used to gather private
support for the First Lady’s Alcohol Free Kids campaign. |

Oakes Schools Music Booster Fund |
| |
The
Oakes Schools Music Booster Fund was established to provide
assistance to benefit band programs at Oakes High School. The
Administration of the Oakes Public School will recommend grants from
the Fund. |

Finley Community Endowment Fund |
| |
Established by community leaders to build a permanent endowment for
the future of Finley. A local committee will recommend grants from
the Fund to be used to support programs that enhance the quality of
life for Finley’s citizens. |

Gustavus Adolphus Cemetery Fund |
| |

Established by Dr.
Harold and Susan Bergquist of Lakota to assist with the ongoing
maintenance and upkeep of the Historic Gustavus Adolphus
Cemetery located in Walsh County. |
Historic Aadalen Church
and Cemetery Fund |
| Established by Dr.
Harold and Susan Bergquist to support the ongoing upkeep and
maintenance of the Historic Aadalen Church and Cemetery located
in rural Walsh County. |
