  Theo Torgerson Scholarship Fund
Ted Torgerson was a lifelong resident of Walsh County. During his lifetime he was Park River's "Man-About-Town". Many North Dakota towns have a resident like Ted, a man who knows everyone and is everyone's friend. A bachelor all his life, he was a grandfather to all children he met. Ted died in 1984 in a car accident at the age of 79. Through his will he established a scholarship fund which has been assisting Walsh County students with their education for over ten years. Ted Torgerson gave back, and his generosity and caring for others is carried out every year through the scholarship grants the Foundation provides to students in his memory .
