Dean & Eleanor Miller Memorial Scholarship
The Dean and Elaneaor Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Linda Larson in loving memory of her parents. The Fund will financially assist students from Park River, ND High School and/or Fordville-Lankin, ND High School to further their education.
Students who are active in high school and community activities, exhibit leadership ability, high moral character and attain at least a 3.0 on a 4.0=A scale shall be given a high priority. Students must plan to attend a 4-year postsecondary program seeking at least a bachelor’s degree in an agriculture or family and consumer science education related fields. The scholarship award will be paid after the selected scholarship recipient provides proof of successful completion of the first semester of college studies.

Lloyd & Martha Haas Scholarship Fund
Established with a gift from the estate of Lloyd Haas to assist Walsh County, North Dakota students who wish to study in field of medicine/nursing and who express an interest in returning to Walsh County to work. The Fund was inspired by Martha Haas who was a long-time nurse and worked for many years in Park River. Martha was known for her compassionate nature when providing care.
The purpose of the Fund is to financially assist Walsh County students with a preference for Park River High School students, who plan to study in the field of medicine and who plan to return to Walsh County. Preference will be given to students who are in their first year of study, exhibit financial need and have high academic credentials.

Park River Scholarship
The Fund was established in 1994 by Larry Houser of the First United Bank of Park River and Claude Sheldon, Superintendent of the Park River Schools at the time the fund was established.
Each year the Park River Public School shall recommend a recipient for the award.

Theo Torgerson Memorial Scholarship
The Theo Torgerson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1985 through the Will of Mr. Torgerson who was a resident of Park River. Of Norwegian descent, he was interested in young people and was deeply respected by residents of Park River. When he was honored by the Walsh County Press with the Special Person Award, the Press said of him, "He is a friend-in-deed to everyone he chances to meet and many people have been favored by his helpful attitudes and friendly personality." Mr. Torgerson was killed in a three-car collision in Park River in September, 1984.
To financially assist students from Walsh County attending a public supported post secondary institution in North Dakota and who will be in the last two years of the educational process. The award will be made in the fall of each year.

Victor & Verna Johnson Scholarship Fund
The Victor and Verna Johnson Scholarship Fund was established with a gift from the Verna Johnson Estate in the year 2008. Victor and Verna Johnson farmed near Hoople and later resided in Park River during their retirement. They were both active in the Zion Lutheran Church of rural Hoople. Verna served as the Organist for the Church for 50 years. Victor and Verna both served on numerous local boards and volunteer positions. In addition, they were donors to a number of local projects and programs including the Park River First Care Health Center and the Park River Community Endowment Fund. The Fund will financially assist students from Walsh County North Dakota to continue their education.
Selection shall be based on the following:
1. Recipient must be a graduate of a Walsh County High School
2. Students must be in the last two years of the educational process (Junior or Senior in college).
3. Academic achievement and financial need shall be considered in awarding the scholarship.
4. Recipient must enroll as a full-time student (12 credit hours/semester).
5. First priority is for students from the Park River/Hoople area, however, multiple scholarships are given and applying is recommended for all Walsh county students who otherwise qualify.

Established in 1999 to support the upkeep and maintenance of the historic St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery located at Conway, ND.

Rostvet, Chris Memorial Fund
Established in 1999 by family and friends in loving memory of Chris Rostvet who attended college in Bottineau and was planning to attend the University of North Dakota. On May 30, 1998 Chris went fishing on Devils Lake with his brothers and a friend and while on the lake, the wind came up and their fishing boat capsized. The boys were in the water for a number of hours, but Chris never made it to shore. The Chris Rosvet Memorial Fund is a sub-fund of the Park River Community Endowment Fund.
