The Resource Center: Capacity Building for Nonprofit Organizations and Rural Communities

    The Resource Center is a division of The North Dakota Community Foundation, operating with support from The Otto Bremer Foundation.
    Individual assistance is available to nonprofit organizations and rural communities in areas that include planning, project development, fundraising, and board training.
 

Rural Community Resource Forum

    The Rural Community Resource Forum has been initiated in partnership with Northwest Area Foundation. The Forum is an opportunity for community leaders from across the state to communicate with, and learn from each other. It is also an opportunity for The Resource Center and ND Community Foundation to disseminate information to support rural community development. Opportunities will be placed on the Forum on an ongoing basis.
    The Forum is free however to fully access the Forum you will need to register. Instructions are simple. Once you are registered, simply click on the topic area you are interested. You will be able to respond to questions or comments, as well as place your own questions or comments within the topic areas.

    Cher Hersrud has nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit management and rural development issues. Hersrud grew up in Western North Dakota and has received national fellowships for her research on North Dakota.

Workshops

    Grantwriting workshops can be scheduled on a community or regional basis, for a nominal fee.
    Board development sessions are available to make your directors more effective.

    The Resource Center can facilitate the planning process for communities or regional groups.
