Sheila Coleman Memorial Scholarship

Fund Background:

Sheila Coleman was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Sturgis, South Dakota in the summer of 2012. Sheila was doing something she loved, riding motorcycle. Sheila Coleman was a person who had a love for many things and with that passion Sheila gave 110%.

Sheila was a 1987 graduate of LaMoure High School. She earned a degree in Education and later a Masters in Education. Sheila taught junior high math at the Oakes Public School and for the 13 years, she found her passion in teaching first graders at LaMoure Public School.  Parents of students Sheila taught have shared many stories of things Sheila did with her students. She was not only a teacher to her students, but a friend, a parent when needed and a confidante. Sheila went over and above what was expected of a teacher.  That was Sheila!

The Sheila (Morse) Coleman Memorial Scholarship is given to a recipient who has that passion for teaching and for life. We hope having knowledge about Sheila will help you become the best teacher/person you can be.
