EllaRae Kelly Memorial Scholarship

Fund Background: The fund was established in 2007 by Michael Kelly in loving memory of his wife, Ellarae, who lost her life to a rare form of liver cancer at the age of 51. She loved rural living and working on the farm, devoting her life to her husband and their four children, Rachel, Melissa, Joel, and Colin. She dedicated time and energy to the Larimore schools, attending countless activities, serving as prom committee chairman, volunteering to do anything that needed to be done. As a member of the Larimore Booster Club, Ellarae voted “yes” to requests by teachers and school organizations, eager to provide opportunities for Larimore students. She never missed the chance to attend parent-teacher conferences, believing that in order for education to work, parents must be involved.
She wanted their four children to receive four-year college degrees. This scholarship will continue Ellarae’s dedication to education and Larimore’s young people by helping recipients realize the dream of a college education.

Eligibility Requirements: Preference will be given to students who are active in school and community, exhibit leadership ability, have high moral character, plan to attend a four-year college or university, and have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.00 = A scale.
